My work often starts with a contradiction that I see in a specific place or in a phenomenon. I am interested in the distortion between the obvious and the underlying meaning. My primary goal is not to make this distortion visible but it is of decisive importance to arouse my interest.
I usually use ordinary materials in my art that you can find in any grocery store. The way I work with these materials, cutting, melting, gluing and shaping, gives the artwork its characteristics. The starting point is nevertheless this distortion that will be a part of the artwork for the viewers to discover.
