Meriç Kara was born in Izmir, Turkey in 1977. She studied Industrial Design in METU, her masters in design in Domus Academy. Later in 2003 she found herself in Fabrica the Research and Communication Center of Benetton and stayed for 2 years. Since 2006 she continues her work in Istanbul, designs for various companies as well as creating her own products. Paola C. from Italy, Suck Uk from Britain are among her clients. Since 2002, she took part in various exhibitions and publications worldwide. In 2007 she was named among the world’s most exciting young product designers in “&fork” by Phaidon Publications. She was nominated with four awards from the Graphic society in Turkey with her team in 2008. She received the “young designer of the year” award by Elle Decor, Turkey in 2011.
