Antwerp
On the Saint-Annabeach in Antwerp, lies a sixteen meter long dead sperm whale, a work of art of the Antwerp collective Captain Boomer.
Op het Sint-Annastrand in Antwerpen ligt een zestien meter lange dode potvis, een kunstwerk van het Antwerpse collectief Captain Boomer. De potvis is een bijzonder realistische replica, een anderhalve ton zware constructie van hout, aluminium en polyester. Het Antwerpse kunstenaarscollectief Captain Boomer wil vooral verwondering opwekken bij de toeschouwers. Om die "echtheid" te bereiken, werd niets aan het toeval overgelaten. Enkele wetenschappers kwamen huidstalen nemen, en het dier is ingesmeerd met rotte vis om het de geur van ontbinding mee te geven.
