Not about Antwerp but a very interested collective exhibition curated by Valeria Siemelink and Andrea Wagner, that brings together 20 Latin American and 20 European jewellery makers and artists who ocationally work with jewellery as a medium, into a dialogue about jewellery, global mobility, contemporary identities and its personal and/or collective implications. The curators of Walking the Gray Area, have each selected 20 artists from their respective continents: Latin America and Europe. Each artist has a unique approach to jewellery: different perspectives of art and jewellery, differnt ideas, different interests, different materials and techniques, different countries. But all artists have one thing in common: like the curators themselves, they have experienced the phenomena of global mobility in one or another way: born in one place, lived, studied, worked in another one:       ... walking the gray area

The guestroom from the gallery is a ‘sleep over’ experience.

Best described as a unique combination of the big city, a temporary home, and a jewellery gallery merged into one.

 Housed in a small ‘30 building and set in a modern and futuristic all white environment, the guestroom crosses the divide between sleeping and cutting edge art jewellery. In the guestroom you take your shoes off, lay down and

you're at home.

Between the fashionmuseum and the Plantijn & Moretus museum, in the centre of old Antwerp.

The guestrooms from the gallery are cosy studio's on the 2th and 3th floor from the building,

above the gallery. A relaxing space after a day in the city. Located behind the Nationalestraat

in the old centre from Antwerp, the river (Schelde) is at 100 meters.

With a salon, sleeping place, simple kitchen and a bathroom with shower, washing table and toilet.
