[openlab in your city?]
ADDICTLAB's OPEN LABS are a way to discover and accelerate creative talent from your region, enhance cross over dialogues with other disciplines and with press aswell as industry, in order to set up sustainable partnerships and generate innovative thinking.
Are you interested in having an Open Lab in your city? Know people that would benefit from the exposure, and know some companies that could support? Then contact the addictlab organisation.
[Why?]
‘South Africa should be more proud of its creative talent’ says Jan van Mol, founder of the international renowned lab and currently living in South Africa. ‘We try to implement a ‘bottom up’ way of working, a system to accelerate genuine creative talent.' Once selected for exhibitions and high qualitative publications, the process is not finished. The lab is always looking for possible next steps such as looking for implementation and production where appropriate, and offering innovation consultancy to companies & industry. A lot of these innovation projects are kept confidential for the companies at hand.
[credentials]
Addictlab has been setting up similar projects, such as the brainstorming sessions at the Creativity World Forum in Antwerp, the test shop on the border between Belgium, Germany and Holland, the exhibitions during the Salone del Mobile in Milan and the research shown in Berlin. Talent accelerator examples include selecting & following South African artists for a 45 minute TV show for SABC 1, aswell as getting product concepts produced for companies like Diesel, Lee Cooper, Danone, Nike.
