Help on editing

  1. Uploading:

To upload an image..

Go to "Media" - "Upload" - select and upload the file.
Now go to "List" and click "insert".

  • Images can never be larger than 250kb (if so, edit in Photoshop: „image“ – „image size“ – change „resolution“ to 72 pixels.)
  • Image name should NOT contain spacing.
  • To keep a clear view, it is advised to use clear names.
    (p.ex.: Ambassadors_Brussels_News1)

  • Styles

Big text / Small text Grey background
Speaks for itself. You can use "Big text" p.ex. for titles on top of the page, and "Small text" for footnotes. If you want a certain topic title to be emphasized, you can select it and choose "Grey Background" under "Styles".

Image border
Header
Make pictures appear more clear and professional by adding a small border around it.
Just click on the picture, and choose "Styles" - "Image border".
A cool feature to use on your personal ambassador page.
You can make a picture of your own liking, and put it on top of your page (replacing the grey banner background). Size should be 810x150

Resizing
If the inserted picture is too big, you can resize it by simply dragging the outside corners inside.

Removing rows or columns can be done by clicking in the column or row you want to remove, and pressing the "remove"-icon.
note: be aware that the entire row or column will be removed, and not only a part of it!

  • HTML editing

The new wiki-system supports html, which makes it able to use numerous interesting functions, many yet to be discovered.

  •  Links

You can easily create hyperlinks by using the little CHAIN icon. (on the right). A new window will open and all you have to do is type or copy the desired url, then click 'update'

- Problems inserting a table?

Sometimes you can't insert a new table because there is no place to put your mouse pointer..
This can be helped by using html.

Press the html button and search (ctrl + f) for a piece of text near the place where you want to insert a new table.
p.ex.: If you want to insert a table above this one, search for "problems inserting".

Rules_codetest

After clicking "update" a white space is created above this table, and a new table can be inserted.

Note:

If you did something wrong, want to redo it and therefore need to go back to a previous state, you can use the "Undo"-button.
By pressing this button you go one step backwards. You can go back till the last time you saved your document.

While working in the edit-window, it isn't always clear how the page will look like when it's saved.
Before saving your adjustments, you can do a preview. Here you have the benefit that you can see the full page and if necessary still be able to make changes, which can't be done when you saved the document.

Important:

Regard following rules to keep a clear picture database!!

A „Delete“-button has been added in the „Media“-popup.

Because of the enormous amount of pictures that will be uploaded in the future, it is in all of our interest to keep a clear view.

If you uploaded a picture that doesn’t work, or you want to remove a picture from the database that’s already (!) been removed from the site, the “Delete”-button can be used. Just search for the picture you want to remove, and press “Del” next to it.

If everyone uses obvious and clear names, and deletes the unused or not working pictures, we should all be able to easily refind the pictures we once uploaded and keep our database clean!

Note: Do not remove pictures other ambassadors uploaded! ONLY remove those of your own.

Experiencing problems?!

Below you can find solutions to problems you could encounter while editing a page:

- The inserted picture doesn't appear

You click « insert » in the « Media »- popup, but no pictures appear in the edit-screen.
Solution: It could be that the popup has been open for too long. Just close it, and reopen the “Media”-box. Then try inserting the picture again. This should do it!

- The inserted picture appears as a text-block

When inserting a picture, you only see a text-block but no picture (p.ex.: « 6314small »). The cause of this problem is unknown.
Solution: Open the respective picture in Photoshop, and choose "File" - "Save for web".
Save the picture and reupload it again. Now you should be able to see the picture!
