| SLAVASAAKYAN | The Studio of Industrial design "Slavasaakyan"is from Moscow, Russia, run by Slava Saakyan, who graduated from Moscow State Technical University with degree of "Engineer-designer of motor vehicles", now also a teacher of sketching and projecting in the British high School of design. The studio is being engaged with many orders in the different spheres of design. Initially the transport design, and automotive first of all, was the main direction, now we're working not only for industrial, but for environmental design as well. We have accomplished projects of the interiors of planes and yachts, more then 40 interiors of automobiles and some experience in working out the interiors for the high-class train compartments, etc. |
![]() | This is specific, accomplished design project of furniture for bedroom and study. It was made for the individual order. The furniture was projected with irregular approach to the modern furniture production. During the process, some “export” from the automotive materials and technology was made: the objects were produced with the usage of carbon, stainless steel, genuine leather and covered with automobile enamel. |
![]() | This is our internal conceptual project, the realization of our own aesthetic idea. It's symbiosis of two materials - cold metal and warm pliable wood, technical and biological, working mechanizm and live coat. Seems that buttons hang in the air, and inside it's working due to original costruction of the wheel - belt-drive |

| Design reflections #3 | Limited design / artspeaksdesignspeaksart | once upon a time, the art world looked at design as a pretty commercial and low profile sector of contemporary culture... now things are drastically changing. the languages of creativity are adulterine and freshly mixing up... but what are the impacts on design industry, serial philosophy, price, customers? |
