Dedicated art lovers are arranging to meet in the central hall for the 26th LINEART event, which is the merging art fair for ethnographic, modern and contemporary art.
Thanks to extensive and exclusive collaboration with galleries, LINEART is aiming to become the platform par excellence for selling primarily Belgian art from 1907 up to present, and also including work from international artists.
LINEART project manager Ward Caes and his co-workers are opting for a diverse range of top quality works and are targeting an audience of 25,000 visitors who will feel truly spoiled. The five eye-catching ‘show cases’ include objects of museum quality, based around the theme of modern art, ethnic art, ceramics, silver design and photography.
The art fair will provide an excellent opportunity for refreshing initiatives, such as the intriguing solo presentations by artists on the ‘Belgium Calling’ and ‘Fortis Young Ones Award’ stands for young talent, the chance of finally breaking through. Visiting LINEART 2007 will be a treat for the whole family. Whilst parents enjoy the plentiful range of artefacts, children will be able to give their creativity free rein in the Art Kids Zone.
At the same time as LINEART, Ghent will be organising a ‘Ghent Art Week’ in the old city centre, so that any visitors to the fair will also be able to find something to interest them at local museums, and to attend lectures or art events at original locations.
