handicap
Handicap international needs a baseline.
Today, Tomorrow, Toyota.
Base: Freedom of speech.
Nokia: Connecting people.
WWF: For a living planet.
This sort of short, intriguing sentences linger in the subconscious of us all. They are what we call baselines.
A baseline is not a slogan, but the signature of an organisation or enterprise. A good baseline synthesizes in just a few simple words the core business, the mission, the vision of an organisation. Most of the time it’s not even a full sentence, just a few words. Often very rythmical, almost sounding musically. It tells you what ’s so unique about the organisation.
A baseline could not possibly be used by anybody else. Tomorrow, Today, Citroen? Hum, doesn’t sound very good, right?
A good test is that one should be able to send the baseline as a short SMS-message to friends.
The HIB communication department in Brussels just started the search for a good, catchy baseline which we could use for many of our communication activities in Belgium & in the field. Every one and each of you, your friends or family are all invited to participate in this quest.
So feel free to send all your bright, shocking, thought provoking, slightly brilliant, absolutely mad ideas (in any language) to Jan.Brigou@Handicap.be or to Vincent Marot, Public Information Officer at the HIB’s coms dept. Vincent can be reached at vincent.marot@handicap.be
Deadline: 31th August 2008. Thanks a lot. Have fun! And, oh yes, there’s a price to be won :o)
